Shower melts with essential oils
Relaxation to go
A shower melt turns a regular shower into a special moment! Perfect for when you don't have time for a bath or don't have a bathtub! Shower melts with essential oils are easy to make. And they are the perfect homemade gift.
All you need for ca. 24 shower melts:
200 g baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
100 g citric acid
A few drops of essential oils of your choice, e.g. peppermint, lemon, lavender
60 g cornstarch
2 tbsp water
A few drops of food coloring (optional)
An ice cube tray
Only 10 minutes to prepare
Place the baking soda, citric acid and cornstarch in a bowl and mix well.
Add around 20 drops of each essential oil and mix well.
Carefully add the water until the mixture reaches the consistency of wet sand.
Place ¾ of the mixture in the ice cube tray and press down well, leaving a little space at the top.
The rest of the mixture can then be colored as desired using food coloring (optional).
Add the colored mixture to the existing mixture in the ice cube tray so that each mold is filled to the top.
Leave the shower melts to dry for 24 hours.
The shower melts can then be removed from the tray and placed on the floor of the shower while showering. The water and steam will release the essential oils and create a unique shower experience.
Perfect homemade gifts
Shower melts can be stored for several weeks in a sealed container, making them perfect for gifts, too. So if you want to surprise someone with their favorite shower scent, just create a personalized shower melt.
